Meet Lisa and Julie who describe themselves as "Crazy Knitting Nurses". They found their way to Cottage Knits in need for a little break from Nursing School...and after taking a beginning knit class they were hooked.
Julie Jordan is a reformed crocheter who finds a bit of sanity in the rhythm of needles slipping in and over stitches. She enjoys the challenge and finds herself racing on toward that next project. Currently she prefers knitting felted bags and embellishing them with her own person touches.
Lisa Luttrell is knitting socks. She took a sock class and the rest is history. Tiny needles and fingering weight yarn gives her pleasure watching her tedious yarn transform into a work of art....even if it will be worn on her feet. (I have told her, "just wait, when you actually get to wear them you will never buy another pair.")
Both ladies have joined in the monthly "Squares Group" and have learned a variety of stitch combinations. They have immersed themselves in the knitting world and love it!
With finals only a week away i suspect i know why they have been MIA for the past week. Both admitted that their studies had sort of taken a "backseat". And we all know some of us work best under pressure and deadlines.
I have no doubt that when these ladies tuck away their caps and gowns they will be found at Cottage Knits, once again...with a few friends recruited to join their little knitting circle.
And we shall be here to share their knitting victories ~ and celebrate their bright futures.
Congrats Lisa and Julie...we are proud to call you Cottage Knitters!
